How do I get Started with Ooma?
Anyone (who has a modem and high-speed internet connection) can do it. The basic setup looks like this: It’s really that simple, you plug your phone into the Ooma (in the middle) and your Ooma into a modem. You choose and activate a number online, and you’re ready to go.
Can I connect my Ooma Telo to my phone company’s wiring?
WARNING: The PHONE port on the back of your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie is not designed or certified for connecting to your phone company’s wiring, whether through the phone jacks in your house or otherwise.
Do I have to connect Ooma to the router?
You do have to connect Ooma to the router, but the easiest thing to do (which is what we did), is to buy a 2 or 3-set cordless phone. Hook the main base to the Ooma device, then plug in the secondary base(s) on the first floor.
How do I distribute my Ooma signal to my phone jacks?
If your home is completely and physically disconnected from your telephone company’s wiring outside your house, you can distribute your Ooma signal to all of the phone jacks in your house. You will need to set up your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie as depicted in the diagram below:

We’ve created the Ooma Setup Guide to help you set up the enhanced features we offer so that you can get the most out of your Ooma system. The first time you log into your My Ooma account, the Setup Guide will display as a pop-up window, prompting you to get started.
How do I make calls with the Ooma mobile app?
You can make calls with your Ooma Mobile app in several different ways: Press the Phone or Dialer button to bring up a basic dialer screen and enter a phone number. Press the Contacts button to access your phones contacts list.
Can I have a second phone number for my Ooma account?

What devices can I use Ooma on?
The Ooma app is currently available for Apple iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch that are running iOS 7.0 and above. It is also available for Android devices running Android version 5.0 and above. Note: Some devices such as the iPod touch may require accessories, like a microphone, in order to make phone calls.
Can I set up Ooma to distribute a dialtone to all jacks?
Important: You can’t set up Ooma to distribute a dialtone to all of your phone jacks if your only phone line is still hooked up to your old phone company!
Can I use my Ooma Telo base station to distribute dial tone?
You may be able to use your Ooma Telo Base Station to distribute dial tone to the phone jacks throughout your home, allowing you to use phones in different rooms.

Can I use my Ooma account on my mobile device?
After you install the Ooma app on your mobile device, you’ll be able to use your Ooma account for phone conversations on a smartphone or tablet. Using the Ooma app doesn’t replace your mobile phone number. Instead, the two services can work side by side so you can access both accounts.
