Does the matchmaking actually work?

Sometimes the matchmaking does actually work really good but most of the time its broken af... Does anybody else have this problem?? Casual or Ranked?

In order to prevent matchmaking abuses while switching regions, we’ve changed our Matchmaking Rating system in Y5S2 to unified MMRs for each playlist. This means that you will not have different MMRs depending on the region you play in. However, your matchmaking ranking will remain separate in different playlists.

Dont know but maybe party leader has an effect on matchmaking. Me and my friends went through the same thing of just getting demolished every game when we had our best player as leader. Then we made one of our friends who just recently started playing party leader and got our easiest win yet. That would make sense.
