Why wont my nib fit into this section?
Because the shape of the nib is opening wider as it moves away from the base, it will only fit into the section so far. Some nibs have a deep base stamp, such as the star shape on the bases of many Parker Vacumatics. This star was Parkers lifetime guarantee, and entitled the owner to a replacement of the nib for thirty five cents.
